If you purchased your home between January 1, 2016, and December 31, 2016, and you occupy that home as your primary residence, you are likely to be eligible to claim Homestead Exemption, which will drastically reduce your property taxes.

If you are a client of Buy Sell Live Atlanta, you should have already received a copy of your signed Settlement Statement from your closing (if you have not received it, please send us a text or an email and we’ll get a copy to you ASAP), which you may need in order to file for your Homestead Exemption. Be sure to confirm eligibility and requirements with your county of residence.
