Wisconsin-based Great Wolf Resorts is planning its 15th attraction in LaGrange at exit 13 off I-85, about 68 miles southwest of Atlanta. The 93,000-square-foot water park will create more than 600 jobs and represent an economic investment exceeding $150 million. About 500,000 people are expected to visit the area annually with Great Wolf Lodge as their destination for nearly 500,000 square feet of entertainment and 456 guest suites.
Each suite accommodates at least five people and includes a microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator. Families may choose the Wolf Den or KidCabin suites with bunk beds. Larger families may choose from several styles that sleep up to eight people with additional bedrooms and bathrooms. Several on-site restaurants and food outlets will include the full-service Barnwood and Hungry as a Wolf with pasta and handcrafted pizza.
Guests at Great Wolf Lodge enjoy the signature rides and attractions, including Fort Mackenzie, an interactive, multi-level water fort treehouse with its huge tipping water bucket; a lazy, serene river; massive wave pool; thrilling water slides; and several zero-depth entry pools and kid water play areas. Chief Executive officer Ruben Rodriguez says that the Georgia location will open in two years and “feature many of the amenities and activities our guests know and love, as well as several new experiences exclusive to this resort.”
