THE HOLIDAYS ARE YOUR FRIEND!
At this time of year, many homeowners decide to wait until after the holidays to list their homes for the first time. Others make the decision to take their homes off the market until after they enjoy the holidays. Neither is the best plan. Here’s why:
>> Relocation buyers are looking. Many companies are slow during the holiday season, and buyers with children want them to start school in January.
>> Purchasers who are looking for homes during the holidays are typically serious and ready to buy.
>> You can remain in control by restricting the showings of your home to the times that are convenient for you.
>> Decorated homes show better.
After the holidays, the supply of listings increases substantially. Also, many parts of the city are expecting new construction to make a comeback in 2016, lessening the demand for existing homes.
Considering these factors, waiting until after the holidays to put your home on the market is not a great strategy.
